Job summary

A leading Fire and security company is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer based in the South East London area to carry out planned maintenance on Fire detection and Emergency Lighting Systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in the Fire industry, a solid understanding of British Standards, and good IT skills. This full-time role involves attending reactive calls and providing high-quality customer service to ensure client satisfaction. This position offers competitive remuneration of up to £45,000.

Qualifications

• Experience in the Fire industry is essential.
• Understanding of relevant British Standards for Fire Alarms (BS5839-1 and BS5839-6).
• FIA certification is desired but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPM on Fire detection, AOV systems & Emergency Lighting Systems.
• Attend reactive fault calls and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct occasional site surveys to assist in quoting for small works.

Skills

Experience in the Fire industry

Understanding of British Standards for Fire Alarms

Knowledge of Kentec, Morley, Advance panels

Experience in fault finding

Good IT skills (Outlook, Excel)

Fire Alarm Service Engineer

Salary: up to £45,000 (Negotiable DOE)

Location: covering South East London

Full Time | Permanent | 40 hours per week

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 08:00 am to 04:30 pm

About the role

The main purpose of this role is to carry out PPM (preventative planned maintenance) on Fire detection, AOV systems & Emergency Lighting Systems. Attega Group is currently partnering with a leading Fire and security company in recruiting a Fire Alarm Engineer to join the team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPM on Fire detection, AOV systems & Emergency Lighting Systems
• Attend reactive fault calls, diagnose corrective actions and implement those actions to resolve the fault
• Carry out minor installations
• Conduct occasional site surveys to assist the office-based estimator in quoting for small works
• Provide good communication and customer service skills
• Understand the client KPI's associated with planned and reactive calls
• Out of hours London callout rota one in four weeks

Ideal candidate

• Experience in the Fire industry (essential)
• Understanding of relevant British Standards for Fire Alarms (BS5839-1 and BS5839-6)
• Knowledge of Kentec, Morley, Advance, Eurotec, CTEC panels (advantage)
• Experience in fault finding (essential)
• Experience taking downloads on addressable systems (desirable)
• Understanding of cause and affect programming (preferable)
• FIA certification desired but not essential
• Good IT skills (Outlook, Excel, engineering apps preferred)
• Full UK driving licence
