Finance Manager (6 Month Fixed Term Contract) – Telford

Up to GBP65,000

Seymour John is working in partnership with a leading organisation to recruit a Finance Manager on a six–month fixed–term contract, with strong potential to become permanent. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially focused finance professional to take full ownership of the finance function for a growing business operating across multiple business units.

The Opportunity

As Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading the UK & Ireland sales operations finance team, ensuring robust financial control and insightful analysis that supports key business decisions. You ll be responsible for managing the day–to–day finance operations, developing policies and processes, and driving continuous improvement across reporting, compliance, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full accountability for the finance function of the UK sales operation.
  • Lead the finance team to deliver accurate and timely month–end close and management accounts.
  • Ownership of the UK balance sheet, ensuring reconciliations and accounting judgements are robust.
  • Analyse variances between forecast and actuals, providing meaningful commentary on business performance.
  • Oversee statutory reporting and compliance with financial policies and regulations.
  • Support and lead on internal and external audits.
  • Partner with business unit managers, providing financial insights, ROI calculations, and input on commercial terms (pricing, credit limits, stage payments, and payment terms).
Principal Areas of Responsibility
  • Monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Calculation of provisions and allocation of shared costs
  • Financial risk management, including customer terms and credit limits
  • Supplier payments and monthly payroll
  • Inventory and cycle counts, including management of obsolete stock
  • Budget preparation and monthly forecasting across business units
  • VAT returns and compliance
  • Internal and external audits
  • Line management of one direct report

We are looking for a finance professional with proven experience in leading finance operations within a complex business environment. You will have excellent analytical skills, a strong eye for detail, and the ability to influence and support decision–makers at all levels.
