A leading NHS organization in Portsmouth is seeking a Finance Officer to provide administrative support for their Financial Services team. The role includes cashier duties, control account reconciliations, and assisting senior staff with financial analysis. Candidates should have basic accounting skills, good communication abilities, and be familiar with MS Office. Finance is part of the Single Corporate Service providing a service across both Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Portsmouth University Hospitals NHS Trust. Financial Services is a key part of the Finance Department and the role is part of a multidisciplinary team delivering a high quality service to the public customers suppliers and both Trusts. Individuals may be required to occasionally undertake business travel between sites as agreed with their line manager.
The role provides a comprehensive and effective administrative service to support the smooth and efficient running of the busy Financial Services team. The post holder will support the senior Financial Services staff in the completion of financial analysis to inform management decisions and support the development implementation and monitoring of expenditure and income processes on behalf of both Trusts as required.
The role allows for some flexible hybrid working arrangements however the post holder must be on site at least two days per week.
We are seeking someone who will have basic accounting skills good communication skills and a willingness to study.
The post holder should possess a good working knowledge of MS Word PowerPoint Excel and Outlook have excellent organisational skills and be flexible and adaptable at work to meet competing priorities.
