Work pattern

We operate year-round, with a range of shifts including daytimes, weekends, and bank holidays. Contractual working week is an average of 37.5 hours per week on a rolling rota (including weekends). Evening shifts typically run 5pm–1am. There may be occasions when you are required to start earlier or finish later. The rota is provided approximately 10 weeks in advance to help you plan meaningful time off.

Responsibilities

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll visit individuals in their homes to install tagging equipment. You’ll work alone or with a Monitoring Support Officer. You’ll build trust with individuals and reassure them of their safety and the safety of the public. Each successful case helps reduce pressure on the prison system and supports ex-prisoners to rejoin their communities. Every day and every individual are different, offering variety and opportunity.

You’ll receive 3 weeks of training and be accompanied by an experienced Officer/Mentor on the road until you’re comfortable in your role.

Qualifications and requirements

What you need to do the job: Our current Electronic Monitoring Field Officers come from diverse backgrounds. What you’ve done before isn’t the key; your commitment to making a difference is. You will learn during the 2-week initial training course and through shadowing & mentorship from experienced colleagues. A current valid UK driver’s license, reasonable fitness, and good written and verbal communication skills are essential for building relationships and rapport with individuals you meet.
