An award-winning manufacturing company based in Dunmurry is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee the management and continuous improvement of plant facilities. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in facilities management and a strong background in plant maintenance. Responsibilities include managing service contracts, leading energy efficiency projects, and ensuring operational cost reductions. A Minimum of 2 years’ experience or at least 5 years in a similar role is required, along with excellent team management skills.

VANRATH is delighted to be assisting an award-winning Manufacturing company in the recruitment of a Facilities Manager for their Dunmurry site.

This is a stand-out opportunity for a candidate with relevant Facility Management experience in a Manufacturing or Plant or similar environment.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, upkeep, and continuous improvement of all plant facilities. Core duties will include:

  • Overseeing service contracts and regularly evaluating the cost-effectiveness of outsourcing versus in-house service provision.
  • Leading the planning, installation, and commissioning of facilities and energy efficiency projects, ensuring clear communication with all stakeholders throughout.
  • Implementing and maintaining an effective system to monitor gas and electricity usage across the plant.
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce operational costs by optimising supplier performance and delivering improvement initiatives.
Essential Criteria

Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:

  • Hold a Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent in Building Services or Engineering, along with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a plant maintenance environment, or
  • Possess at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a plant maintenance setting or similar (manufacturing).

In addition, candidates must have:

  • Proven experience in team management
  • A track record of contract negotiation
  • Experience overseeing on-site contractors
Desirable Criteria

While not required, the following qualifications and experience would be advantageous:

  • A degree in Building Services or an Engineering discipline
  • Background in plant maintenance within a continuous production environment
  • Demonstrated success in leading cost reduction and process improvement initiatives
  • Project management experience
