Overview

Lloyd Recruitment Services is pleased to be working with a national organisation in search of an experienced Fabricator to join their production team on a full-time, permanent basis.

• Position: Fabricator / Welder
• Location: Bristol
• Salary: £30k-£31k dependent on experience

This is a hands-on workshop-based role, working with sheet metal and covering the full fabrication process including measuring, cutting, folding, welding, and fitting metal components. The successful candidate will also be expected to handle off-spec tasks such as repairing damaged metalwork using their own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Full production of sheet metal components including measuring, cutting, folding, welding, and fitting
• Fabrication of steel sheets
• Operation and programming of workshop machinery including guillotines and press brakes
• Manual metalwork and soundproofing of units
• Stripping generator components from containers and fabricating replacement parts if damaged
• Plasma and flame cutting as required
• Using MIG welding techniques on sheet metal and sections up to 15mm
• Liaising with other team members to optimise efficiency and workflow
• Using appropriate hand and power tools to complete assigned tasks
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
• Supporting with loading and offloading materials (forklift licence will be required)
• Adhering to quality, environmental, and health & safety standards as part of the wider management system

Skills and Experience

• Strong background in general engineering or metal fabrication
• Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication and MIG welding
• Ability to work from drawings and use accurate measuring techniques
• Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
• Experience operating CNC machinery (desirable)
• Reliable team player with good communication skills
• Able to use initiative to complete non-standard tasks
