Qualifications

Job description

Climax is one of the leading creative lights of independent games development with an outstanding line of top published titles. You'll be based out of our new state of the art space located in the heart of the city of London EC1.

We are seeking an onsite Experienced Character Artist. You will be able to provide us with examples of beautifully constructed characters, clean geometry, texture and material work. You will have a number of years’ experience as a Character artist in the industry with at least one published game to your name. As part of our Character Art team, you will be asked to utilise your wealth of experience in conceptualising, modelling, and texturing to tell stories through beautifully crafted characters.

Requirements

• Be able to showcase some creative flare as well as displaying core fundamentals such as solid topology, UV's and texturing
• A deep understanding and knowledge in Maya and Zbrush plus a proven foundation in Photoshop
• You should be able to display a folio with a wide range of examples demonstrating flexibility and a good eye for form, shape, composition and fun - we love nothing more than to see someone who loves their craft and enjoys what they do
• A good working knowledge of Unreal 4/5 as well as experience using Marvelous Designer and/or scan development pipelines is beneficial.
• Experience with Substance Painter.
• Experience with facial blendshapes and wrinkle maps
• Hair authoring experience - full strand based and hair cards
• Good knowledge of anatomy
• MetaHuman knowledge
• Examples of hard surface work
