Location: Filton campus (with some travel to other campuses)

Contract Type: Permanent, term-time only

FTE Salary: Up to £34,416.00 (salary is dependent on qualifications and experience)

Actual Salary: Up to £31,938.90

Working Hours: 37 hours a week, 38 weeks a year

Role Purpose and Activities

We are looking for an EAA assessor/specialist tutor to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team. The role will be balanced between exam access arrangements assessments (EAAs) and specialist tutoring. Most time will be EAA assessments and related administrative tasks; there will be tutoring and teaching during quieter parts of the academic year. Specialist tutors will deliver English and maths, with timetable flexibility based on strengths where possible.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Assessing learners for exams access arrangements and completing associated administrative tasks
  • Providing departmental training in the college EAA process
  • Delivering high quality one-to-one or small group teaching using multi-sensory approaches in Functional Skills and GCSE English and Maths
  • Preparing engaging, accessible learning materials, including digital resources
  • Building bespoke learning plans tailored to individual needs to promote independent learning
  • Monitoring learner achievement and engagement
  • Collaborating with course tutors, the Exams team, and parents/carers to support student success
  • Training students in the use of assistive technology
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
  • L7 Exams Access Arrangements qualification (CCET and C3PTA)
  • PGCE or alternative teaching qualification
  • Level 5 or above in teaching learners with specific learning difficulties (e.g. dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD)
  • Excellent knowledge of GCSE and Functional Skills English and Maths syllabi
