Job summary

A leading energy trading company in Greater London is seeking a Power Scheduler to manage short-term physical electricity positions in European markets. The ideal candidate will possess a graduate qualification in an analytical discipline, strong quantitative skills, and experience in the energy market. Fluency in English and another European language is preferred. This role involves making bids, nominating positions, and ensuring trading activities align with market realities. Qualifications

  • Graduate qualification in an analytical discipline like finance, science, engineering, or maths.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Some experience in Scheduling or as an operator in the Energy market is preferred.
  • Fluency in English and preferably one other European language (French or German).
  • Experience of VBA or programming skills is useful.

Responsibilities

  • Manage short term physical electricity position in European markets.
  • Submit bids for export/import transmission rights.
  • Nominate positions with trading counterparts.
  • React quickly to information from Grid Operators.
  • Train new schedulers in operational tasks.

Skills

Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Fluency in English
Experience of Scheduling or as an operator in the Energy market
Strong organisational and numerical skills
Experience of VBA or other programming skills
