Overview

A whole‑time post as Head and Neck Surgical Oncology Fellow, requiring an Otolaryngology background, is available at Churchill Hospital in Oxford for 12 months from August 2026. The post will have an out‑of‑hours commitment on the registrar on‑call rota at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

Key Information
  • Duration: 12 months (fixed term)
  • Post‑CCT required
  • Eligible candidates work full‑time; part‑time candidates considered on a personal basis
  • Location: Churchill Hospital, Oxford; out‑of‑hours rota at John Radcliffe Hospital
Responsibilities
  • Attend the Head and Neck MDT on a regular basis and run the head and neck fast‑track neck lump service
  • Lead ward rounds, assess 2‑week‑wait patients, investigate potential malignancy and present at MDT
  • Plan and perform major resections of head and neck malignancy
  • Provide specialist head and neck ENT service at secondary‑care level, including elective and emergency care
  • Commit to a general out‑of‑hours on‑call role (1 in 9)
  • Participate in an emergency service cover at registrar level
Teaching & Research

As part of a teaching hospital trust, the post‑holder will participate in programmes for teaching clinical students, training junior doctors and clinical examinations. Teaching will be an integral part of everyday clinical activity.
