Job summary

A well-established contractor is seeking an experienced Engineering Surveyor to support a major earthworks project on HS2 in Oxfordshire. The role involves collecting and processing survey data, ensuring quality standards, and liaising with senior team members to drive efficiency. Candidates must have previous surveying experience and proficiency in various survey applications, alongside a valid UK driving licence. Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role in land surveying and civil engineering projects.

  • Ensure all site tolerances are achieved throughout operations.
  • Produce as-built drawings and records using survey-specific software.
  • Liaise with Senior Surveyors and Engineers to ensure accurate information.
  • Set out works accurately using GPS or Total Station equipment.

Our client is seeking an experienced Engineering Surveyor to support a major earthworks and civil engineering project on HS2 in Oxfordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well‑established contractor that invests heavily in technology, training and professional development.

You will play a key role in collecting and processing accurate survey data, setting out works with precision, and ensuring quality standards are upheld across the site. Working closely with senior team members, you will help drive efficiency, accuracy and innovation throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect survey field data, process results and issue deliverables in agreed formats
  • Ensure all site tolerances are achieved throughout operations
  • Produce as-built drawings and records using survey-specific software
  • Liaise and assist the Senior Surveyors, Senior Management and Engineers to ensure all information is accurate and up to date
  • Set out works accurately using GPS or Total Station equipment
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a similar role in land surveying and civil engineering projects.
  • Strong IT capability and proficiency in survey applications (LSS, Trimble Business Centre, Trimble Works Manager, Propeller, AutoCAD, Excel)
  • Previous experience using Topcon and Trimble equipment
  • A valid UK driving licence (essential)
