Overview

Job Title: Electronics Design Engineer
Location: Broad Oak
We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role.
Salary: Up to £48,180 Depending on skills and experience

Responsibilities
  • Immediate work will be design proving of first off PECs to allow integration into system compliance proving.
  • Development of test jigs for PECs (custom interface boards).
  • Development of test specifications.
  • Supporting system integration and design proving.
  • Maintaining good documentation of design information.
  • Engagement with hardware and software engineers both within the local team and with other sections.
  • Implementation of required design changes (updating circuit designs and working with PCB Layout engineers).
Qualifications
  • Essential: A good understanding of electronic design both analogue & digital.
  • Degree qualification or time served experience.
  • Capable of circuit analysis.
  • Good practical fault finding skills.
  • Desirable: Previous experience of operating in a defence or high safety integrity environment.
  • Experience of low-noise analogue techniques.
  • Knowledge of high-power techniques (kW level).
  • Experience of FPGA/CPLD development.

The role requires collaboration within the Underwater Battlespace SRMLU (Stingray Midlife Upgrade) Sonar Team; the successful applicant will need to independently research solutions to problems while relying on team support and guidance as needed.

The small team size dictates that each person covers many varied aspects of electronic design work.
