  • 37.5hrs per week. Monday to Friday 9 : 00am to 5 : 30pm

The purpose of the role is to…
  • The Electrical & Controls Process Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, and operations department of the factory in Pucklechurch. Designing and implementing electrical and controls philosophies, drawings and Bill of materials. Troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of refrigeration control systems across the factory and on customer sites, coordinating with factory engineering teams, and driving corrective and preventive solutions to ensure reliable and efficient refrigeration system performance.
What you’ll be doing…
System Diagnostics & Troubleshooting
  • Conduct regular workshop and site visits to investigate and diagnose electrical, instrumentation, and control system issues in refrigeration systems.
  • Analyse PLC, HMI, and sensor data to identify root causes of performance or reliability problems.
  • Verify proper control sequences, wiring integrity, and signal communication within control networks.
Factory Liaison & Problem Resolution
  • Communicate field issues clearly to the design and manufacturing teams at the factory.
  • Collaborate with factory engineers to develop, test, and implement corrective actions or design improvements.
  • Provide feedback to R&D and production teams for system enhancements and lessons learned.
System Optimization & Process Improvement
  • Support the development and deployment of control logic updates, instrumentation upgrades, and performance tuning.
  • Recommend modifications to improve energy efficiency, reliability, and safety of refrigeration control systems.
  • Participate in commissioning and start-up activities for new or modified systems.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Prepare detailed service and diagnostic reports following each site visit.
  • Maintain accurate records of system configurations, software revisions, and control logic changes.
  • Create and update control system documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
Technical Support & Training
  • Provide technical guidance to maintenance and operations personnel on control system operation and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in developing training materials for plant engineers and technicians
  • Overseeing the Electrical Design process for production and ensuring best processes are adhered to or introduced to maintain the best efficiencies within the workshop whilst maintaining the best standards.

We’d love to meet someone with....
  • 3–7 years of experience in electrical and control systems engineering, ideally within the industrial refrigeration, HVAC, or process automation sectors. Creation of panel wiring diagrams.
  • Strong background in PLC and HMI programming (RDM, Siemens, or similar).
  • Experience with industrial instrumentation, VSDs, and control panels.
  • Familiarity with CO ₂ , or freon-based refrigeration systems is highly desirable
  • NICEIC Qualified advantageous.
  • HND or degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
