Early Years Practitioner
Pennywell Early Learning and Childcare

Salary: £29,173 - £33,287 (pro rata for sessional)
Hours: 36 per week, 39 weeks sessional

Pennywell Early Learning and Childcare opened in August 2024. This exciting new centre for providing high quality learning experiences for children and families is part of the MacMillan Hub. MacMillan Hub is a community focused, collaborative location which will provide a range of services for the local community through partnership working with North Edinburgh Arts and the relocated Muirhouse library.

We are now recruiting an experienced Early Years Practitioner to join our team on a fixed term basis. The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting children to be confident, capable individuals and helping them to achieve their full potential. Our practitioner will be highly skilled at enhancing children's learning and development, understand their role in supporting children to lead their own learning and will be enthusiastic about creating meaningful experiences and spaces with children in our beautiful new setting. They will be an effective team member who will contribute to the ethos and values of our setting through good communication and professional discussion, using their training and knowledge to demonstrate their enthusiasm for Early Years.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Qualifications and Checks
