A local government council in Scotland is seeking a full-time Early Learning and Childcare Worker based at Crosshouse Early Childhood Centre. The role involves contributing to the care of children aged 0-8 years. Applicants must be members of the PVG Scheme for regulated work. The position offers a salary ranging from £26,911 to £28,800 term-time, with 35 hours per week from Monday to Friday.
Contribute as part of a team to the provision of a quality early learning and childcare service for children aged 0-8 years and their families. Work in accordance with the principles of the national care standards for early education and childcare, and abide by the Code of Practice for Social Service Workers.
The duties involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants will need to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member for Regulated Work with these groups, or if already a member, undergo a PVG Scheme Record Update, before a formal offer of employment is made by East Ayrshire Council.
PVG records are regularly updated. Any relevant information disclosed will be discussed with the applicant prior to employment confirmation.

This is a temporary, full-time, term-time position based at Crosshouse Early Childhood Centre, until 1 December 2025.
The hours are 35 per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, as directed by the line manager.
The annual salary ranges from £31,377 to £33,579. The actual term-time salary is between £26,911 and £28,800.
