Overview

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is a full time (37) permanent role working Monday – Friday, 08:30-16:45.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced dental care professional to join the Operational Management Team within Glasgow Dental Hospital.

The post holder will be accountable to the Operational Governance Manager and will be responsible for the daily efficient and effective co-ordination of staff hygienists and dental nursing staff within Glasgow Dental Hospital, ensuring a high standard of care for all patient groups.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate staff hygienists and dental nursing staff within Glasgow Dental Hospital to ensure efficient and high-quality patient care.
  • Work with the Operational Governance Manager developing and monitoring governance issues and service improvement activities.
  • Lead multidisciplinary audits, planning, implementation and evaluation; negotiate with a range of key stakeholders.
  • Support action planning and development required to improve the quality of care delivered across Oral Health in Secondary Care.
  • Play a key role in developing an improved career structure and effective succession planning for the dental nursing and staff hygienist teams.
  • Assist and support the Oral Health Directorate team in developing a culture of improved performance to support continuous development of services and progress against key objectives.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to drive improvements in patient outcomes and resource utilisation.
