Our Forvis Mazars UK Debt Advisory practice is trusted by owner-managed and private equity owned businesses to provide debt finance solutions for transactional, restructuring, optimisation, and growth purposes.

Established in 2022, the debt advisory practice benefits from a strong platform within a global accountancy firm and works closely with the Deals & Financing, Restructuring & Insolvency, and Energy & Infrastructure service lines at Forvis Mazars UK. The national debt advisory practice has more than tripled in size since 2022, with significant growth plans for the coming years.

As a Debt Advisory Director (North), you will be responsible for supporting the development of the debt advisory practice through the delivery of a high-quality service across a range of clients, including advising on refinancings, acquisition finance, leveraged buyouts, debt restructuring, and growth capital. The work will mainly focus on privately owned and private equity-owned businesses in the mid-market with an enterprise value up to £50m.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with potential clients and counterparties across Private Debt funds, Banks, privately owned businesses, private equity, and large corporates in the north of England.
  • Originate and lead debt advisory transactions, playing a key role in executing transactions.
  • Lead in preparing and delivering pitches and proposals.
  • Lead business development activities, including networking, building relationships, and identifying potential mandates.
  • Manage risks on projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory procedures.
  • Prepare and review transaction documentation and financial models, including business plans, information memoranda, and financial forecasts.
  • Manage transactions, acting as the primary client contact and providing support and advice.
  • Support national marketing activities and build personal market profile.
  • Manage team members to ensure high-quality output and adherence to risk management procedures.
  • Show vision and strategic perspective, focusing on growing the Debt Advisory business and the firm overall.
  • Produce high-quality work in line with firm policies and regulatory requirements.
