CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Critical Services Shift Technician to join our team in London.

The Critical Services Shift Technician will support a major refurbishment of our client's EMEA headquarters in Canary Wharf. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a critical project phase, witnessing commissioning and contributing to building mobilization.

The project focuses on transforming this landmark tower into a state-of-the-art workplace emphasizing technology, sustainability, and environmental standards, with flexible workspaces and wellness areas.

Job Purpose:

The Shift Technician performs planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on building systems, responds to emergencies, and undertakes small installation and handyman tasks. Speedy response to faults and maintenance is essential.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Carry out routine maintenance on all building plant, equipment, and systems to meet service level agreements.
  • Respond to alarms and effect emergency repairs.
  • Manage permits to work and ensure safety controls.
  • Maintain evaporative cooling and domestic water systems per L8 standards.
  • Keep adequate spares and maintain electronic records via REALM.
  • Prepare method statements and risk assessments for all tasks.
  • Supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance with contractual and site policies.
  • Develop positive relationships with clients and team members.
  • Ensure safety, quality standards, and professional image are maintained.
  • Maintain technical skills through ongoing learning.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on HV/LV systems and HVAC systems.
  • Conduct building walk-rounds and meter readings.
  • Investigate faults, identify causes, and implement remedies.
  • Prepare reports and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Assist with installation works and participate in emergency call-outs.
  • Develop understanding of building layouts and functions.
  • Establish trust with facility managers and client staff.
  • Promote safe working practices and suggest service improvements.
  • Work on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.
  • Be aware of critical works and change processes.
  • Wear PPE and complete risk assessments as required.
Role Requirements:

Skills:

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of H&S, risk assessments, lockout/tagout, and permits to work.

Experience:

  • City & Guilds Electrical Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent.
  • Building services, critical environment, and CMMS/BMS systems experience.
  • Proven track record in similar roles with safety compliance.
