A leading educational institution in England is seeking a Cover Supervisor to support teaching staff during absences. You'll deliver lessons across different subjects for Junior and Secondary students and must be flexible with your commitments. Ideal candidates are passionate about inspiring children and possess strong classroom management skills. The role offers payment of £16.35 per hour but does not guarantee a set number of hours each month.

Job description
Overview

You will provide cover for teaching staff to enable them to carry out their professional duties, training and development and short-term absences. Work will be set by teaching staff and will be for both the Junior (Years 3 to 6) and Secondary school (Years 7 to 11) and will typically be across a range of different subjects. Occasional cover to assist with educational visits may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver set work prepared by teaching staff for Junior (Years 3–6) and Secondary (Years 7–11) pupils across a range of subjects.
  • Provide cover to support learning during short-term absences and assist with educational visits as required.
Qualifications and attributes
  • Be passionate about inspiring students of all abilities with high expectations of standards and strong behaviour and classroom management skills.
  • Some candidates with experience in sports coaching and a willingness to cover Physical Education would be desirable to support lesson delivery and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Experience of working with children is highly desirable; full training will be given; candidates must be flexible and have their own mode of transport.
Remuneration

The rate of pay is £16.35 per hour (incl. holiday pay) on an adhoc basis; we cannot guarantee a set monthly number of hours. Cover Supervisors are in a position to accept or decline requests for work dependent upon their own existing commitments.
