Job Title: Configuration Engineer

The role

As a Configuration Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Your work will ensure compliance with safety cases and contribute to the safe and effective operation of nuclear facilities - a role that truly makes a difference to national security and public safety.

Day-to-day, you’ll provide technical configuration and administration support to the governance of activities within the Plant Management Group

  • Manage and co-ordinate Facility Procedure Authorisation Group meetings, documentation and configuration.
  • Supervise configuration and due process activities for the Radioactive Waste Management Plant Management Group.
  • Administer configuration tools to support governance activities.
  • Champion accurate record retention to ensure safe work and compliance.
  • Provide advice on due process and reviews to maintain regulatory standards.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days in the office/onsite and days working from home.

Essential experience of the Configuration Engineer
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise.
  • Ability to work independently with a flexible attitude.
  • Experience in a high-hazard or highly regulated industry (advantageous).
Qualifications for the Configuration Engineer
  • ONC (or equivalent) essential.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) / Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
