Overview

One of the UK's leading specialist logistics who are highly regarded within the sector that they service across road, air and ocean freight solutions is currently looking to appoint a Compliance Officer to take ownership of daily compliance activity. Reporting to the Head of Compliance, you will play a key role in safeguarding operational integrity, maintaining accreditations and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of key compliance areas of the business including policy, SOPs, document control and risk management.
  • Maintain and enhance central library of policies and SOPs and manage audit-ready compliance communications and training records.
  • Lead risk assessments across drivers, fleet, facilities and cyber domains and maintain a live risk register.
  • Deliver internal audit programmes for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and lead initiatives to achieve ISO 27001.
  • Manage supplier and third party questionnaires and remediation actions as well as maintaining customer compliance registers.
  • Conduct training needs analyses and manage training matrices and renewals.
Key Skills
  • Proven experience in a compliance role within logistics, transport or freight solutions operating within a regulated sector preferably.
  • Hands on knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 (internal audit experience essential) and a familiarity with or will to learn ISO 27001.
  • Proven experience in carrying out risk assessments across people, fleet, facilities and preferably cyber.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organised with a keen eye for detail.
  • Holding a UK driving licence and able to travel between sites.
