Job description

A typical day as community nurse may start with greeting a diabetic patient and administering their insulin, followed by supporting patients at the end of their life to ensure gold standard care is delivered. You may then visit a few patients to dress a leg ulcer or post op wound, followed by changing a catheter to flushing a patients central line. You may be called out to an urgent care response visit where a patient needs to be seen and assessed within 2 hours. Following a list of visits you will have team handover, this gives you the opportunity to discuss complex situations with your colleagues and undertake clinical supervision. No day is the same within the community and each day is as rewarding as the next, whether youve healed a leg ulcer or given a patient the best possible care at the end of their life. One thing we promise you is that community nursing is never boring!

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Nurse to join Riverside Neighbourhood Team in Worcester. Within the community nursing role you will reap the rewards of being an autonomous practitioner to deliver individual patient care. This will give you the rewarding opportunity to provide holistic care to patients. Shift patterns include 07.30-15.30, 08.30-16.30, and 10.30-18.30. Flexible working opportunities are available and we would welcome you to discuss these options at interview. The Neighbourhood Team consists of Community Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Healthcare Assistants and admin staff with the wider multidisciplinary team. We are looking for a highly motivated, flexible team player with a strong, quality driven patient focus and an ability to work through change to embed new ways of delivering care. In return we provide you with compassionate leadership within a supportive team environment and an individual induction package. You will be fully supported to gain new skills and experience to deliver high quality nursing care to patients in their own home, clinic and residential settings. You will also have the opportunity for professional development and progression. You should have excellent clinical, written and verbal communication skills. We would love for you to join us in this transformational community care journey.

This is a full time role.
