Commercial Property Solicitor / Legal Executive (1-4 PQE)

Location: Reading - Hybrid

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: Very Competitive (DOE)

We are instructed by a well‑established, forward‑thinking regional law firm to recruit a Solicitor or Legal Executive to join a busy and collaborative Commercial Property team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer in the early to mid‑stages of qualification to gain exposure to a broad range of commercial property matters, working closely with experienced partners and colleagues in a supportive, high‑quality practice.

The role offers a mix of independent responsibility and structured supervision, alongside genuine opportunities for development, profile‑building, and longer‑term progression.

The Role

You will handle a varied caseload of commercial property matters, including:

  • Freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals
  • Drafting and negotiating commercial leases and ancillary documents
  • Lease renewals and portfolio management for landlords and occupiers
  • Property management matters such as licences to assign, underlet, and alter
  • Secured lending transactions
  • Supporting wider transactional work and collaborating with corporate and real‑estate colleagues

You will be encouraged to take an active role in business development, relationship‑building, and contributing to the growth of the team.

About You
  • 1-4 years' PQE (or equivalent) in commercial property
  • Experience handling freehold and leasehold transactions
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage your own caseload with appropriate supervision
  • Proactive, organised, and commercially aware
  • Comfortable working under pressure and managing competing priorities
  • Collaborative approach with strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • High attention to detail and strong academic background
  • Confident IT user, including Microsoft Office and Outlook
