About Our Client
Our client is Europe's leading supplier of decorative face sheet materials, panel components and furniture. A very rare opportunity in the business has arose to work with the Managing Director to support the sales and growth of the business. The Commercial Manager will be responsible for overseeing and driving the commercial performance of the business. This includes developing and executing strategies that maximise profitability, maintaining strong client relationships, leading commercial negotiations, and ensuring effective coordination between sales, production, and supply chain operations. Due to the sensitive nature of the business and projects, this position is confidential and requires the highest level of professionalism and discretion.
Job Description
- Develop, lead, and execute commercial strategies that drive growth, profitability, and market presence for our client.
- Manage confidential negotiations with clients, suppliers, and partners, ensuring optimal commercial outcomes and safeguarding sensitive information.
- Oversee contract management, pricing, tender submissions, and risk mitigation processes.
- Collaborate closely with sales, supply chain, product development, manufacturing and finance teams to ensure alignment of commercial objectives and operational execution.
- Monitor financial performance, prepare detailed forecasts and reports for senior leadership while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Provide market insights and intelligence to inform strategic decision-making, while ensuring competitive information remains secure.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements within commercial activities.
- Team leadership and development within a close-knit business environment.
- Developing a broad view of the business as a whole to enable a positive contribution to the continuing profitability of the company.
- Ensure adherence to relevant compliance, health and safety, and sustainability standards.
The Successful Applicant
- Relevant experience in a senior commercial or sales management role.
- Experience working within manufacturing, KBB, furniture components, or panel products industries is highly advantageous.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial acumen with a focus on profitability, margin management, and negotiation.
- Proven experience in B2B sales or commercial roles, ideally in the wood based panel industry / KBB manufacturing sector.
- Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make strategic decisions.
- Familiarity with supply chain operations and production processes.
- Knowledge of UK/EU timber regulations and sustainable sourcing practices
