Overview

We're looking for a Commercial Manager to join our Highways Authority team based in Brixworth, West Northamptonshire. In this role you'll play a vital role in our Highways team managing commercial aspects of major infrastructure projects valued between £1m - £15m. This collaborative role balances financial oversight with relationship building, offering an opportunity to make a real difference to community infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Managing the commercial performance of major projects, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations
  • Monitoring project costs and financial risks, providing transparent reporting to stakeholders
  • Building relationships with local authority clients to ensure service delivery meets expectations
  • Leading a team of quantity surveyors to deliver accurate measurement and valuation of works
  • Working collaboratively with procurement teams to negotiate favourable terms with supply chain partners
Qualifications
  • Hold a Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Bring experience in a commercial role within highways or infrastructure, ideally within a local authority setting
  • Possess strong knowledge of NEC contracts and be confident in managing contractual obligations
  • Demonstrate strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets effectively
