Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer – Up to £65 per hour (Umbrella) – Initial 3 Months – Remote Working

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are working with a well-established Combined Authority who are seeking an experienced Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join their team on an interim basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-profile regional initiatives and play a key role in the Authority’s commercial and regeneration projects.

Overview
  • Position: Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer

  • Location: Remote working (with first day attendance)

  • Duration: Initial 3 months with potential for extension

  • Rate: Up to £65 per hour (Umbrella)

  • Hours: Full time preferred, part time considered

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of commercial and grant funding agreements

  • Providing legal advice on public sector initiatives and partnership projects

  • Advising on procurement and subsidy control where relevant

  • Offering pragmatic and solution-focused legal advice to senior stakeholders

Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive (or equivalent)

  • Demonstrable experience in commercial contracts within the public sector

  • Strong understanding of procurement, subsidy control, and governance principles

  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with senior officers
