Overview

Introduction

We are seeking an experienced CNC Production Manager to take full ownership of CNC operations across a multi-machine environment. This is a leadership role where you will drive performance, efficiency, and quality, while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of CNC Team Leaders and Operators.
  • Manage recruitment, training, and progression of departmental staff.
  • Ensure production targets and delivery schedules are achieved across 17 CNC machines.
  • Use OEE data to monitor performance and drive improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks, downtime, and waste using Lean tools and techniques.
  • Embed 5S, structured housekeeping, and visual management into daily operations.
  • Champion health and safety, carrying out risk assessments and toolbox talks.
  • Oversee both planned and reactive maintenance to maximise machine uptime.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives aligned with SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People) principles.
  • Provide data-driven reports and insights to senior management.

  • Proven leadership experience managing CNC operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of CNC machining, programming, tooling, and process optimisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, develop, and motivate teams to deliver excellence.
  • Hands-on experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.
  • Strong understanding of OEE, SQCDP, and performance measurement tools.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive and strategic mindset with the ability to balance daily management with long-term improvements.
