Overview

CNC Operator

Location: Erith

Hours: Monday to Thursday 12pm - 10pm

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

We are looking for experienced CNC Operators to join a growing team. This is a hands-on role working primarily with metal components on 3 or 4 axis CNC machines. The role requires technical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC machines and perform first offs, checking dimensional quality and adjusting machine settings as required.
  • Set up and operate manual machining equipment, including milling, turning, grinding, and marking processes.
  • Maintain production targets while ensuring work is completed right-first-time.
  • Follow engineering drawings and comply with quality systems.
  • Identify and resolve technical problems proactively.
  • Use hand tools such as files, grinders, drills, and riveting tools.
Required Skills
  • Proven CNC experience (3 or 4 axis) with metal components - candidates with experience in wood, glass, or plastic will not be considered.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and understand geometric tolerances.
  • Strong attention to detail and mechanical dexterity.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality systems.
  • Good numeracy, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime when required.
  • Physically able to carry out manual handling tasks.
Desirable Skills
  • Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence.
  • Cylindrical and surface grinding experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
