A leading CNC machining company in Cheltenham seeks a CNC Miller, Programmer, Setter to perform setting and operating duties in the aerospace and F1 industries. The ideal candidate will have CNC programming experience, specifically with Heidenhain, and will be adept at understanding engineering drawings. Excellent pay rates of £18.00 - £20.00 per hour are offered to the right candidates.

Job description

Overview

You will be required to perform setting and operating duties in the CNC Milling section machining components from a range of materials within the aerospace, F1 industries. The machine controls are Heidenhain. You will be working from prepared process and tooling sheets with pre-created programmes, and writing programmes from scratch will also be required. Some knowledge of Heidenhain would be advantageous. You should understand materials and machining techniques and be able to plan and execute jobs under pressure.

• Programming, setting and operating CNC milling centres
• Occasional writing of programmes
• Use of conversational systems like Heidenhain (training available)
• Ensuring that programmes are working effectively
• Observing the Company's health and safety rules
• General duties as required conducive to efficient running of the section

Person Specification

Essential

• CNC Miller, Programmer, Setter – CNC programming, setting and operating experience (3 or 4 axis)
• Knowledge of CNC programs (Heidenhain)
• Accomplished setting and proving skills
• Able to understand engineering drawings
• Good knowledge of materials, speeds, feeds, cutters, etc.
• Able to use measuring instruments (micrometers, verniers, etc.)
• Ability to work to a high degree of complexity and accuracy
• Ability to prioritise

Desirable

• Familiarity with aerospace quality systems
• Familiar with 5 axis machining (Training Given)
• Excellent rates of pay £18.00 - £20.00 Per Hour and terms are available to the right people
