Job description

CNWL Buckinghamshire Priority Dental Service (CDS) is seeking a Specialist in Special Care or Paediatric Dentistry to become the Dental Clinical Director.

The Dental Clinical Director will be an experienced dentist registered with the specialist register for Special Care Dentistry or Paediatric Dentistry. They will combine clinical duties with strategic, operational, advisory, and clinical responsibilities, providing leadership to manage oral and dental healthcare services for the Trust and advocating for the reduction of health inequalities.

The post holder will serve as the Clinical Lead for Buckinghamshire Priority Dental Service (BPDS), ensuring comprehensive oral health care for priority groups, including individuals with disabilities, severe anxiety, or phobias. Services include sedation, general anaesthesia, domiciliary care, and oral health promotion.

Responsibilities include contributing to strategic planning, providing professional advice to Boards, managing clinical staff, developing clinical pathways, overseeing contracts, and maintaining clinical service quality. The role involves clinical sessions for special care and paediatric patients and leadership across Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire.

Additional duties involve liaising with healthcare colleagues, social and voluntary groups, and ensuring organizational targets are met. The Trust emphasizes diversity, equality, and high-quality healthcare delivery across its extensive catchment area.
