Qualifications

  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of building regulations.
  • Excellent communicator and negotiator.

Are you passionate about ensuring quality and compliance in residential construction? We’re looking for a dedicated Clerk of Works to oversee a diverse portfolio of new build developments across the Northwest spanning both rental and sale properties.

With a robust pipeline of housing projects at various stages from initial design through to active construction, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality homes. This position offers the opportunity to provide expert inspection and quality assurance services throughout the development lifecycle and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Site Monitoring & Quality Assurance – Conduct weekly site visits across all developments ensuring works meet MSVs standards for quality materials and compliance with specifications and regulations.
  • Reporting & Documentation – Produce detailed weekly reports including site progress, labour levels, weather conditions and photographic evidence. Share findings with Employers, Agents and development staff.
  • Technical Support & Issue Resolution – Attend design and site meetings, provide expert advice and support resolution of site‑specific issues including layout and specification queries.
  • Compliance & Handover Duties – Liaise with MSVs compliance team on statutory matters (e.g. gas, fire, electrical safety), carry out snagging inspections, attend handovers and manage defect inspections post‑completion.
  • Specification Review & Continuous Improvement – Review specifications for S106 developments, stay updated on best practices in affordable housing and advise on updates to MSVs Employers Requirements.
