Job description

Overview

Looking for a role that fits around your family and lifestyle? Want to be part of the team at a purpose-driven, family-run business? At Dunsters Farm, we’re offering just that. We’re seeking Class 2 Multi-Drop Drivers to join our Bury team, working term-time only – giving you the flexibility to balance work with family or other commitments.

You’ll be working on a term-time, permanent basis, on a 5 day out of 7 shift pattern, contracted to 40hrs per week, with start times between 04:00 and 06:00. This role will require flexibility on your working week as some days will be longer than others.

What you’ll do on a typical day

1. Work as a part of the team delivering products to customer premises on a multidrop basis – an average of 12 drops per day.
2. After induction, manage a multi-drop route of your own, enabling you to build a strong rapport with customers.
3. Maintain accurate driving/working time records using the Tdi system and manual entries to record all working hours as required by the WTD regulations.
4. Operate company vehicles in a safe, legal, and efficient manner.
5. Ensure all products are checked off the vehicle and the customer receives the correct products and delivery documentation.
6. Keep customers informed of their estimated time of delivery and communicate with them in a polite and courteous manner when issues occur.

Term-time information

You will only be required to be on shift for 39 weeks per year (school term time). For the other 13 weeks (school holidays) you will not be required to work; however you will be paid pro rata, meaning you still get paid monthly throughout the year, regardless of whether you are on shift or not.

Essential criteria

• A Full UK Driving Licence with Category Class 2 Entitlement (new class 2 passes welcome).
• An up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph.
• No more than 6 penalty points on your licence (no DD, DR, DG, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT endorsements).
• Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
• Willingness to undertake pre-employment Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
• Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal.
• A positive, proactive attitude – it's a physical job that keeps you on the go.
• Be prepared to commute to Bury (BL9 7BR) for the required shift pattern.

Desirable

• Previous experience in multidrop deliveries preferable but not essential.
