Job description
Claims Operations Manager (Automotive Sector) - London

The term ‘disrupter’ is all too often used when describing any tech-heavy business, regardless of it challenging the status quo or not! However, this fast-growing firm is truly pushing boundaries. Operating in a niche where FinTech meets InsurTech and traditional retail, this dynamic business is turning an age-old business sector on its head!

As market-leaders in this fast-paced niche and constantly evolving, this really is a fantastic opportunity to have a meaningful say in the future direction of an exciting company as it continues to enjoy a phenomenal growth trajectory.

As this is a newly-created position, the finer points can be tweaked to suit your skills and experience, but it is anticipated that your duties will include:

  • Assuming responsibilities of the Motor Insurance Department, from both a managerial and operational point of view.
  • Driving the Claims Function to obtain the best possible outcomes following both fault and non-fault claims, whilst ensuring the minimum disruption to the livelihoods of customers / policyholders.
  • Implementing new processes and strategies, ensuring that all activities are seamless and enhance the business’ efficiency, scalability and agility.
  • Overseeing the Insurance Department, whilst liaising with a variety of internal and external stakeholders; commercial and legislative.
  • Keeping alert to emerging exposures to risks to the business and those of its customers and, where these are identified, working with a variety of teams to create innovative solutions to mitigate these.
  • Contributing to broader risk strategy by analysing trends in the Motor insurance market, with a particular focus within the claims arena.

As this is a Senior Leadership role within one of this organisation’s core functions, it is essential that you have a demonstrable track record of success in a leadership role within the insurance market. You should also have hands-on experience within Motor insurance operations, majoring on claims (including knowledge of liability assessments, third party interactions and litigation). Just as importantly, you will have the ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and operational costs effectively, with experience in aligning operations to financial targets.

As this is a highly visible role within the Senior Management Team, you must be able to inspire, motivate and develop diverse teams, as well as forge a positive and collaborative culture across multiple sites.
