Join Our Outstanding Team – Children's Panel Coordinator

NJC Scale 5 - £29,064 - £31,022 per annum

37 hours per week
Based at Darby House, Lawn Central, Telford

This is an exciting role for someone organised and efficient to join us in Children’s Services as Panel Coordinator within our Valuing Care Team. The panel coordinator will ensure that everything necessary for panel meetings is coordinated in advance, runs smoothly on the day, and follow-up actions and reports happen as required. The panel coordinator is responsible to provide a complete business support service to Panel Leads, in accordance with departmental, corporate and statutory requirements.

Some key tasks undertaken by the role include:

  • Overseeing referrals to Children’s Panels that you are supporting, liaising with relevant personnel as appropriate to ensure availability
  • Liaising with relevant personnel to ensure where needed, panel dates are revised for any reason
  • Acting as a key contact with the panel chairperson and any other panel members
  • Ensuring that the panel membership meets the quorum necessary to conduct business, and that substitute panel members are available in case of sickness absence etc
  • Preparing and circulating panel agendas and all relevant information that is correct and accurate to panel members in advance of panel meeting in timely manner, and where necessary liaising with internal personnel to identify and support personnel where information has been submitted incorrectly
  • Attending and recording panel meetings, issuing formal minutes and actions afterwards, including on internal case recording systems (LCS)
  • Ensuring that Panel meetings have everything necessary to run smoothly

The Panel Coordinator will be responsible for all the administrative tasks required to ensure the effective functioning of Children’s Panels within Telford and Wrekin, these panels include but are not limited to: Resource Allocation and Monitoring Panel (RAMP), Care Oversight Panel and any Panels that require coordination and support to enable business continuity as requested by the Valuing Care Lead.
