A healthcare provider in Stockport is looking for a Children and Young Person Mental Health Nurse to lead mental health services for youths. The role involves collaboration with various teams and enhancing staff training to deliver quality care for vulnerable young patients in emergency and pediatric settings.
An exciting opportunity has become available at Stepping Hill Hospital for a Children and Young Person Mental Health Nurse to join the welcoming Treehouse team. This role is based within the Treehouse children's Unit, working alongside the Children's Safeguarding Team. You will be fully supported by the Senior Nursing Team, Matron for ADHD and the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children. You will be the specialist lead for children and young people presenting at the hospital with mental health and associated behavioural and emotional issues in the Emergency Department, on the Paediatric Unit and, for those young people aged 16-17 years, the adult wards. You will work collaboratively with relevant disciplines, to be accountable for own decision making and clinical practice, care planning and intervention. You will ensure joined-up, seamless care and service provision for vulnerable children and young people, especially those with mental health and associated behavioural and emotional difficulties. You will develop knowledge and skills of staff across the Trust to support safe, high quality and evidence-based care for vulnerable children and young people, in order to develop and enhance services for this patient group throughout their hospital attendance, admission, discharge and follow-up care planning.
