Job description

Service Care Solutions is working alongside a highly regarded Local Authority in Leicestershire, which is recruiting for an experienced Childcare Solicitor to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed solicitor to make a real difference by supporting the council's vital work in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and families.

Role: Childcare Solicitor

Location: Leicestershire - hybrid Umbrella Rate: £50 - £55ph PAYE Inc. Rate: £44.10 - £48.44ph Contract Length: 3 months ongoing

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advocacy and legal representation in the Magistrates' Court and County Court, and when suitably experienced, in the Family Division of the High Court.
  • Advise officers, members, panels, and case conferences on matters relating to child protection and other children's services responsibilities.
  • Handle your own Childcare Law caseload from start to completion.
About You
  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with experience in childcare or family law (public sector experience desirable).
  • Strong advocacy skills and the ability to manage sensitive and complex cases.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary environment.
