Job summary

A healthcare organization in Pershore is seeking a Catering Assistant to provide services at the Community Hospital. We have a permanent vacancy at Pershore Community Hospital, working 16.5 hours per week Wk1 (Thursday, Friday 08.45-14.00 & 15.45-19.00) Wk2 (Saturday, Sunday 08.45-14.00 & 15.45-19.00).

Main duties of the job

We pride ourselves on maintaining catering standards to a 5-star environmental health audit process and in line with the National Standards for Healthcare Food and Drink.

Working alongside dietetics and clinical teams, catering services ensure patients receive nutritionally balanced diets to support their recovery, in accordance with national standards and the Trusts Food and Drink Strategy.

You will be part of a team who deliver a fully comprehensive quality catering service offering choice to patients, staff and visitors which meets legislative and mandatory requirements, in accordance with schedules and procedures. You must maintain a high standard for all food and beverage preparation including hot, cold and ambient items.

The post will consist of varied duties including taking patients meal orders face to face, serving patient meals, clearing away, washing up, cleaning of departments and equipment, food prep, receiving and monitoring deliveries, putting food items away, following all guidance on labeling and stock control.

In return, you will receive full support, training and guidance to enable you to undertake all catering duties.
