A large UK healthcare provider is looking for two Clinical Fellows to join their Cardiology departments in Burton and Derby. The role involves teaching medical students, managing inpatient care, and supervision of junior doctors. This position offers excellent experience for those interested in a Cardiology training pathway, with access to various developmental opportunities and support.
University Hospital of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust are looking for two dynamic and enthusiastic Clinical Fellows in Teaching and Cardiology to join our Trust. The posts could be at either of our sites (Royal Derby Hospital or Queen's Hospital Burton). At Derby, the post will include a teaching commitment for our Nottingham University Medical students and those on the Graduate entry programme. The posts are available from August 2025 for a period of 12 months initially, based within our Cardiology departments. Although these posts are not recognised for training, they provide excellent experience in a Speciality Training level post at a busy friendly Foundation Trust. These posts would suit someone interested in pursuing training in Cardiology at registrar level, or with an interest in acute medicine or teaching. Although not formal training posts and these are not accredited by Health Education England, we believe we can offer you good opportunities in a busy, large teaching hospital.
You will receive supervision, access to an Eportfolio and be encouraged to join the established regional registrar teaching programmes. You will have a study leave budget and, subject to individual requirements, there may be scope to facilitate attendance at Advanced Life Support (ALS) or IMPACT courses and we will perform your annual appraisal.
In return we will offer:
• Development opportunities, including both professional and leadership development
• On-going support through every step of the way from recruitment to when you join our team and beyond.
• A variety of other staff benefits including employee assistance programme, discounted gym membership, onsite fitness classes, car schemes
