Job description
About the Role

Business Analyst – Permanent, Remote.

We're not your typical law firm – we’re people with a passion for helping our clients and each other achieve the best possible outcomes. We lead legal advisers to the insurance and commercial sectors across the UK & Ireland, known for our innovation, client focus, and long‑lasting relationships.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Business Analyst to join our expanding, innovative IT Team.

This is an important position within the IT department, gathering requirements from key stakeholders throughout the business, documenting them in a clear and standardised way and ultimately writing user stories to communicate these to delivery and development teams. A successful business analyst will have a natural curiosity to get to the root cause of requirements and will have a keen eye for detail.

What will you be doing?

Performing standard business analysis activities from gathering requirements to communicating these to the delivery teams. A successful business analyst will analyse, question, prioritise and document business requirements and will ultimately write user stories for the development and delivery teams.

Main Responsibilities
  • Requirements Gathering: Collect business requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and research.
  • Requirements Documentation: Document and manage requirements with clear MoSCoW prioritisation. Process maps and other supplementary documentation are vital.
  • User Stories and Backlogs: Create user stories to represent requirements in a way that the delivery and development teams can design/implement an effective solution.
  • Agile/Scrum/SAFe: Advocate agile within the teams and understand the importance of smaller stories, relative estimations and working within sprints. We use SAFe methodology.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Bridge the gap between the business and the delivery teams, delivering “bad news” when required.
Essential skills
  • Previous business analysis experience
  • Experience of implementing software and process solutions
  • Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
  • Experience working with agile methodologies
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
Desirable skills
  • Experience in case/claims/customer management systems
  • Experience with financial systems, ideally within a legal environment
  • Exposure to SAFe, ITIL, SDLC or other project management or IT service delivery methodologies
  • Exposure to legal or insurance industry
  • Previous experience using Atlassian Jira
  • Previous experience driving transformation in agile teams
