Overview

We are seeking an inspiring and enthusiastic Biology Teacher to join a successful Science department on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. Starting in January 2026, you will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (and Key Stage 5 if applicable), ensuring students are motivated and supported to achieve their best.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and teach high-quality Biology lessons in line with the National Curriculum and exam board specifications.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
• Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Science faculty to share best practice and resources.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities, clubs, and science-related events.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Biology or a related subject.
• Experience teaching Biology at Key Stage 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable).
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for science education.
• Excellent classroom management, organisational and communication skills as a Biology Teacher.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
