What is the job role?

We are looking for a BI & Insights Analyst to join our dynamic and forward-thinking Performance & Insight Team. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality data analysis, performance reporting, and actionable insights that support services across the Council.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead on specific intelligence, performance reporting, and insight projects
  • Develop and maintain data models and dashboards to support service planning and performance monitoring
  • Collaborate with service areas to provide intelligence that informs decision-making and drives service improvement
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of analytical outputs and tailor insights to meet the needs of different audiences
  • Contribute to cross-cutting projects across the Planning and Insight Team
  • Collaborate with Technical Teams
  • Support processes related to statutory reporting

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Business Intelligence and Insight Analyst to join the Performance and Insight Team supporting Adult Social Care service. You will be working withing a busy, innovative, and forward-thinking team that works together with Adult Services to bring positive change to the lives of people in the city. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of Adult Social Care and related reporting systems and performance frameworks
  • Research, data analysis, and ICT skills, including the ability to extract, interpret, and present complex data clearly
  • Ability to use BI tools such as Power BI and SQL
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Experience working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared goals
  • Experience in a similar analytical or performance reporting role (local authority experience is preferable)
  • A relevant degree or equivalent vocational experience in a data, research, or analytical field
