A healthcare organization in Birmingham is seeking a clinical leader for its maternity unit. The role involves managing a team of midwives, promoting a safe and effective environment, and ensuring high standards of care. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical and leadership skills, alongside excellent communication and organizational abilities. This position is crucial for maintaining operational safety and supporting staff development.
In this role you will be expected to demonstrate strong clinical and leadership skills. You will work closely with the ANC/Fetal Medicine/ANNB Screening Matron and the existing ward managers to ensure that the Maternity Unit is operationally safe, effective and well led. You will have a sound clinical knowledge base and a passion for promoting a team culture which supports and encourages innovators and motivators. The role will require you to manage a team of midwives and appreciate the demands of the wider maternity service. You will demonstrate a high level of communication and organizational skills, and be a key stakeholder for the development and management of the individuals within the team. You will ensure high standards of midwifery and obstetric-led care are provided at all times to maintain the safety of women and their families. The Fetal medicine environment is unpredictable and challenging. The Fetal Medicine Manager will be faced with many competing demands for attention and will be expected to exercise excellent judgement in dealing with both clinical and interpersonal challenges.
