A healthcare trust in Birmingham is seeking a Band 4 Flow Co-ordinator for the Emergency Department. The role requires providing high-quality administrative and coordination services to ensure efficient patient flow. The Patient Flow Co-ordinator will provide a comprehensive, high‑quality administrative and coordination service within the Emergency Department, supporting the safe, effective and timely movement of patients through all stages of their emergency care pathway. Working as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will liaise closely with clinical, operational and site management colleagues to ensure that patient flow, escalation and data management processes are delivered to a consistently high standard.
They will ensure that national and local access standards, including the 4‑hour performance target and ambulance handover times, are supported through accurate real‑time data entry, proactive liaison with clinical teams, and early escalation of capacity or pathway issues.
