Overview

We are recruiting for an Automotive Manufacturing Process Planner to be based at our customer's site in Solihull. The Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that works on exciting projects globally for multiple customers, comprising highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.

Responsibilities
  • Manage timing plans during launch to deliver safety, quality, timing and cost objectives.
  • Own the master schedule for all key launch milestones, seeking regular inputs from the dimensional, joining standards & controls team.
  • Lead the creation of day-by-day plans during each build phase, working closely with launch teams external to BIW and maintain the build plan.
  • Prepare, issue and evaluate supplier RFQs.
  • Value-for-money checks after RFQ submission and seek spend approvals.
  • Manage free issue commodity procurement to delivery.
  • Work closely with process engineers to understand commissioning risks and propose mitigation actions.
  • Lead daily start-ups, NEPT, and level 2 management sessions during launch.
  • Undertake other work as directed by line managers related to the role.
  • Experience in delivering and launching BIW assembly line facilities, including strong program management skills, and familiarity with Microsoft Project and/or P6.
  • Proficient in problem-solving, quality issue investigation, and stakeholder management.
  • Possess a Project Management Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or above, preferably Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering) or suitable engineering experience in BIW manufacturing.
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Catia.
  • Self-motivated with strong business behaviors and communication skills; willing to learn as the business environment evolves.
  • Ability to travel to Midlands locations by car; team player capable of communicating and challenging at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work within cross-functional teams and take task ownership to deliver results.
  • Flexible approach to work, including willingness to work additional hours or weekends during peak shutdown windows.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize workstreams to deliver objectives effectively; customer-focused with awareness of business needs.
  • Ability to form good working relationships across internal and external organizations.
