Attendance Officer – Cheshire East Council

Salary: £19,045 to £19,348 pro rata per annum
Grade: 4; Point 5-6
Start date: ASAP
Contract type: Full‑time, 37 hours per week (term time only includes 5 inset days)

Wilmslow High School – state school, age range 11-18, approximately 2,000 pupils (including 500 sixth‑form). The school is set in extensive grounds between Manchester and the Peak District, offering a supportive, caring environment rooted in the core values of excellence and student welfare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build positive relationships with parents, students and staff, acting as the main point of contact for all attendance matters.
  • Monitor, analyse and support interventions relating to attendance, punctuality and persistent absence across the school.
  • Engage staff with attendance procedures and promote improvements that positively impact student outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records, data and confidentiality at all times.
  • Operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment where days vary, contributing to a welcoming, supportive atmosphere.

Timing, Hours and Working Weeks
  • Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 16:00
  • Friday: 08:00 – 15:30
  • 39 weeks per year (term time only, including 5 inset days)

    • Whether the applicant has been the subject of any child protection concerns.
