A leading NHS teaching Trust in Oxford is seeking a Band 6 ATAIN and Perinatal Mortality Coordinator midwife to join their Maternity Directorate. The successful candidate will coordinate data collection, ensure timely investigations of perinatal incidents, and support the maternity clinical governance team. Applicants must be a registered midwife currently working at Band 6 level with strong leadership and communication skills. This role also involves some clinical work and representing the department at various meetings.
The Band 6 ATAIN and Perinatal Mortality Coordinator midwife will work within the Maternity Directorate in the multidisciplinary team to promote a culture of staff and patient safety. The post involves co-ordinating data collection, meetings and administration for the Avoiding Term Admissions to Neonatal project and co-ordinating timely and effective investigations of perinatal mortality incidents. The post holder will ensure PMR reviews are undertaken in line with the requirements of Safety Action 1 of the Maternity Incentive Scheme. The post holder will support the maternity clinical governance team and deputise for the patient safety midwives as needed. The post holder is expected to work clinically at 0.2 WTE to support the maternity service as required and will represent the department at local and Trust wide meetings as required. Excellent verbal and written communication, leadership and facilitation skills are essential.
