Your role

A little more about your role:

  • Meeting the requirements of an "Associate" grade and a proven track record in leading projects for your discipline and for an overall project team. Demonstrate how your input led to the commission being won or successfully delivered.
  • Work in a joint leadership capacity within a mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) discipline team, providing design and technical advice with a multidisciplinary approach on a wide range of projects.
  • Work with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of the discipline or bring specific specialist experience applicable to the role.
  • Interpret the client’s needs and the project as a whole to meet full delivery requirements.
  • Supervise the completion of detailed designs and supervise others in this function.
  • Lead the feasibility study for the project and consider feasibility of the project specific to the discipline.
  • Direct others in the production of detailed and performance specifications for the discipline, subject to review by colleagues prior to issue.
  • Review design programmes and ensure sufficient resources are available to complete the works.

  • Collaborate with likeminded individuals on exciting multi-disciplinary projects.
  • The Building Services team in the Northern Region (Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh) consists of more than 50 Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health engineers.
  • Supported by local, regional and international experts with an extensive technical library and specifications.

  • Based in Newcastle or Teesside with easy commuting options and free car parking.

Key Technical Requirements:

  • Understanding of UK and European regulations applicable to the discipline and how to demonstrate this in project execution.
  • Working understanding of latest electrical design software to allocate and direct work on projects.
  • Understanding of Revit MEP or other 3D design software to allocate and direct work on projects.
  • Ability to sketch and communicate technical detail graphically and effectively.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD to allocate and direct work on projects.
  • Proven track record in local business development.
  • Must be able to obtain UK vetting level of Security Check (SC).
