Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading client in the power generation sector to recruit an Assistant Shift Team Leader to work at their Energy from Waste power plant in Dundee, Scotland. This crucial role comes with a salary of £48,494 + benefits. Responsibilities and duties
  • Reporting to the Shift Team Leader, you will:
  • Support the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the Energy from Waste facility.
  • Assist in overseeing plant operations from the control room and on-site.
  • Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Carry out routine plant inspections, maintenance, and adjustments.
  • Control and operate the Safe System of Work as an Authorised Person.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and reports.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development.
Professional qualifications
  • A recognised engineering qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • IOSH
  • Authorised Person or Senior Authorised Person status in Safe Systems of Work (desirable).
  • Experience working in a similar environment such as power generation, chemical, defence, etc.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, environmental, and HSE requirements.
Personal skills
  • Works effectively in a team and independently.
  • Has strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Is adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Is comfortable working shifts, at height, and in confined spaces.
