GCC Salary: Grade 11 LDR3A, £104,402.32 - £118,643.61, Hours per week: 35

NHS Salary: Grade Band 8D, £103,764 - £108,206, Hours per week: 37

Responsibilities

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) is seeking to appoint an exceptional individual to the post of Assistant Chief Officer (Older People and Primary Care Services). This is a senior leadership role, reporting to the Depute Chief Officer - Operations and Governance / Chief Social Work Officer, with responsibility for the strategic and operational delivery of Older People and Primary Care services across Glasgow.

The successful candidate will provide vision, leadership and operational oversight for a wide portfolio of older people and primary care services including Older People and Physical Disability and Mental Health services, Occupational Therapy Services, District Nursing Services, Hospital Social Work Services, Community Rehabilitation Services, Intermediate Care, Technology Enabled Care, Complex Care and Supported Living Services, Primary Care including General Medical Services, and Health Improvement Services and Equalities.

They will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred services that meet the strategic objectives of the HSCP and comply with national standards and statutory responsibilities.

Leadership and Strategic Focus

This role requires a dynamic and experienced leader who can drive forward transformational change, develop and implement commissioning and workforce strategies, and lead service redesign and integration. The postholder will represent the HSCP at local, regional and national levels, and will play a key role in shaping policy, contributing to capital planning, and engaging with the Scottish Government on matters relating to adult services.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must be educated to Master\'s level in a relevant field and possess extensive senior leadership experience within the NHS, local government, or a comparable public or third sector organisation. A proven track record of strategic planning, service transformation, and partnership working is essential, along with a deep understanding of the legislative and policy context for health and social care in Scotland.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong political awareness, excellent communication and influencing skills, and the ability to lead in a complex, multi-professional environment. They will be expected to work autonomously, exercise sound judgement, and contribute to the wider strategic direction of the HSCP.
