Job description

Do you have buying or purchasing experience within a manufacturing/production environment? Do you currently hold a CIPS certification or want the potential to work towards one? If so, this Assistant Buyer role is perfect for you!

The Assistant Buyer position is working for a manufacturer in the Andover area. The role is Monday to Thursday 8:30am – 5pm, with an early Friday finish of 3:30pm. The role is paying up to GBP31,000 depending on experience.

Responsibilities

As an Assistant Buyer, you will play an important role in supporting the purchasing function by ensuring the cost-effective and timely acquisition of materials, goods and services. You will manage daily purchasing tasks, including processing MRP suggestions with approved vendors and ensure deadlines are met to support production and customer requirements. You will be responsible for costing materials to support customer quotes, controlling commercial exposure and expenditure in line with company policies, and maintaining flexibility to support the wider procurement team.

Requirements
  • Experience with previous buying/purchasing duties
  • Previous experience within a production or manufacturing environment is beneficial
  • To hold a CIPS certification or be willing to work towards one
  • Exceptional communication, organisation and teamwork
  • Excellent communication
